library thing

I think library thing can be a good tool to use as a resource. It is very easy to add books to and to use. The only thing I would like to figure out how to so is categorize them so you can just click on a topic and all the books are listed. There is probably a way to do this I am just not sure how.

generator

I found this calender generator and it is nice that you can go back to a different year, like the year you were born to find the day of the week you were born on. It could also be handy for making your own calendars to. The site is http://www.cs.runet.edu/~pac/cal-gen.html. I was born on a Thursday. I also found one for making different crosswords that could be useful when teaching younger children to help them with your spelling works. The site for that one is http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/cgi-bin/theme-cword. There is one more that I liked you can also make a list of words and give a definition as a hint to help them get to know what they mean http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/cgi-bin/theme-cword.

Week 4

I had a good experience with delicious and i started my own account. It is http://delicious.com/elainemarie27. I could see using this as a tool It is a nice way to bookmark your sites so you can use them anywhere. Next, Technorati I found to have some nice instructional videos. The one thing I found with this site is that there are a lot of results almost too many for my liking. I could see spending a great deal of time just trying to find something you are looking for.
YouTube, I am not sure of. I have seen some things on there that others have showed me but never used it before today. The video I chose was a volleyball video on serving and receiving the ball. I believe it shows some good technigues and different drills that I could use as I have been a volleyball coach in the past, and will in the future again. I could see this being used in a class to a point but a good chunk of them I have seen I feel are out there for entertainment purposes and not very educational.

week 2 comments on 3 articles

After reading the articles on social media, I would agree there is a lot of social software out there. These day like when you go to the library most of the people you see in there are teens. Most teens have at least one form of media if not a variety. I would agree that some students may learn better using different types of technology or web programs. You look at how many youth have cell phones, how often they are on the computer using Facebook, twitter, mySpace for example or even texting that is how many communicate with others. I believe it is important to make the libraries more interactive and appealing to a variety of ages. Some teens would be vary lost with out these forms of communication tools, and may not know what else to use.

week 2 technology interests

I have never used flickr before and I think it is a really neat way to organize your pictures. I think it is great that you can select who can see your photos also. It takes like no time at all to uplaod them either, which is nice
